Automatic Pallet Stocker Systems for Paver and Block Plants


 A pallet stocker collects production pallets carrying freshly molded pavers or blocks and arranges them for controlled movement to curing. It reduces repeated manual lifting and can keep an automatic machine running without congestion at the outfeed.

The stocker must be designed around the pallet size, product height, weight, number of layers and curing system. It is not a stand-alone accessory; conveyors, sensors and the machine cycle must work together.

How the stocker fits the line

After demolding, a conveyor moves the pallet away from the press. Sensors confirm position, and the stocker lifts or indexes the pallet into an organized stack. When the stack reaches its planned count, it is transferred toward curing by the selected handling method.

The KM stocker system can be discussed with automatic plants such as the KM-28 DT. The exact arrangement depends on factory layout and production rate.

Pallet consistency

Automatic handling requires consistent pallets. Length, width, thickness and flatness should remain within tolerance. Warped wooden pallets can catch on guides, create false sensor positions or cause the stack to lean.

Before installing a stocker, inspect the full pallet inventory and define rejection limits. It is better to remove a defective pallet than stop a high-output line.

Sensors and positioning

Photoelectric or proximity sensors can detect pallet position and mechanism movement. Sensors must be protected from concrete splashes while remaining accessible for cleaning and adjustment.

The control logic should stop movement if a pallet is missing, misaligned or not fully transferred. Manual mode is needed for setup and safe recovery, but operators should not bypass normal safety interlocks.

Drives and control

Stockers may use hydraulic, electric or combined movement. Variable-frequency drives can provide controlled speed for selected motors. The system should prevent sudden acceleration that could crack or shift green products.

Confirm emergency stops, overload protection, guarding, limit switches and safe maintenance positions. Mechanical locks or supports may be required before workers enter a lifting area.

Curing integration

Fresh pavers need moisture retention and gentle handling. The stack height and spacing should allow the selected curing process. Forklift or trolley movement must not tilt the stack or create excessive vibration.

Plan a clear route from stocker to curing and from curing to pallet return. Empty pallets should return without crossing finished-product dispatch unnecessarily.

Maintenance

Daily cleaning is essential. Concrete buildup changes sensor distance and pallet height. Inspect chains, guides, cylinders, bearings, fasteners and cables. Check that emergency stops and guards are functional at the start of every shift.

Record jams and investigate the cause. Repeated resets without correction can damage mechanisms and create a serious safety risk.
